Taurine is found naturally in the human body (particularly in the liver and brain), synthesised from the sulfurous amino acids cysteine and methionine. babies and small children can not create taurine; for them taurine is an essential amino acid. For older children and adults taurine as semi-essential amino acid because the body is able to producte taurine under certain circumstances.
