Boldo is a slow growing evergreen tree that produces fruits. 
The scented flowers are either male or female, there is still only one sex per plant, male and female plants must therefore be grown together for the reproduction.
Boldo from the Andean region's of Chile and Peru, and is also indigenous to parts of Morocco. 
According to legend, the benefits of the plant were discovery by chance by a shepherd. The leaves are used in the kitchen as a herb, and also in the linen closet to obtain a pleasant smell.
Boldo is grown in Italyë, Brasilë and North Africa.
This is necessary in order to meet the huge demand for its leaves (because of their specific properties) in European and Canadian markets.
